Before discussing about how to apply the Rollup Let discuss what a Rollup Contain.

A Rollup that has been released by Microsoft have -

1. PLATFORM / Executable Fix.

2. Code Fix.

PLATFORM / Executable Fix are the Exe Upgrades which resolves the issues which are related to Exe, whereas the Code Fix are the Fixes which resolves the issues in Standard Process of Microsoft.

The Code Fixes released with the Rollup are available for W1 and for some local country Localization. I would suggest before beginning a new project you should apply the latest Rollup Released.

If the Localized Code Fixes are not released with Rollup You should merge Fix of World Wide Version.

Example -
If I am implementing or Upgrading for Say India, I should merge the latest Rollup for W1 in the Target Base Database.

** The Rollup Released Are incremental so if you apply Rollup 6 For Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2, it will contain all fixes till Rollup 5 and New Fix for Rollup 6.

Download the Rollup and in next post we will see how to apply the Rollup for NAV 2013 and Later.
